LIST OF ISSUES
Environment

You may notice that Amy has chosen not to have many physical signs up around Duxbury. She does not want to see those signs end up in a landfill after September. Amy's campaign centers around her core values, including sustainability and the belief that small actions can make big change.

Amy is a fierce advocate for environmental protection and believes strongly in preserving Duxbury's spectacular open spaces for the enjoyment and use of the public. In her time in town politics, she has worked to ensure the protection of our town's wetlands, wildlife, and unique ecosystems. She is not afraid to stand up to developers in her goal of conserving land and preserving the irreplaceable historical and natural beauty of our town. Her passion for the environment is rooted in her family, as her father Don served on the Scituate Planning Board as Chairman in 1959 and during this time sponsored the article creating Scituate's Conservation Commission.

Education

Amy is the proud mother of three Duxbury High School Graduates. All three have attended college. Her eldest two daughters have gone on to recieve advanced degrees and currently work in Higher Education. Her youngest is finishing her degree this year at Wentworth Institute of Technology with plans to pursue working at a corporate architectural company that values sustainablity. Amy understands the immense impact of the high-quality education Duxbury Public Schools provides. She believes a quality, well-funded public education should be afforded to all children.

Fiscal Responsibility

Amy runs with the goal of ensuring our town's fiscal responsibility. She recognizes the delicate balance between a well-funded and vibrant town and protecting our taxpayer dollars. She frequently challenges and asks questions at town meeting not to ruffle feathers, rather to seek an understanding of the town budget and how our hard-earned tax dollars are being spent. As her bio states, she will continue to raise questions with the goal of transparency and obtaining the necessary information for our residents to cast informed decisions.  Amy loves this town, and wants to see it thrive and prosper, but she also wants to be sure that is done responsibly and with the best interest of the citizens of Duxbury in mind. She is among the many hardworking residents of Duxbury who hope to retire in the same community where she has worked, volunteered her time, and raised her family.
